When:   Saturday January 11, 2014 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

 

This day was created to honor the legacy of Yolanda D. King, her love of cultural affairs and the arts and her commitment to nonviolence. The King Center will digitally showcase submissions of visual art for youth, 5 - 25 years of age, related to peace and choosing nonviolence. Submission guidelines are below.

2014 King Holiday Observance "Choose Nonviolence" Visual Arts Showcase Guidelines 

  • Participants must be between 5 and 25 years of age.

  • Visual Art should focus on the theme “Choose Nonviolence” and Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy of peace for our world. The visual representation of those themes is up to the vision of the artist.  Art with offensive language and images will not be showcased.

  • Art to be showcased will be screened by a committee.

  • Visual Art submitted will be showcased on the web and at the King Center Freedom Hall and Screening Room.

  • Each art piece uploaded should be saved with first and last name and age of artist.

  • Submissions must be uploaded via the website link below and by deadline, Monday December 30, 2013.
